Ivanti Health Check

Overview

Ivanti Health Check is a professional service that reviews Ivanti Neurons for ITSM deployments to identify misconfigurations and issues affecting performance, reliability, and security. It supports clients in preparing for architecture optimisation in on-premises environments. The service examines key components such as Operations Console, Email Engine, Escalation Engine, Integration Server, Licence Server, Logging Engine, Message Queue, Metrics Server, Workflow Engine, and Ivanti Service Log. It also reviews configurations of Microsoft IIS, SSRS, SQL Server database engine, deployment landscapes (production, development, user acceptance testing), security access controls, and, where applicable, high-availability and multi-server setups. An NDA, administrative access to the Ivanti deployment, and a designated client contact are required for coordination.

Why do you need it?

Manual reviews of Ivanti Neurons for ITSM deployments often miss critical misconfigurations, leading to performance issues, security risks, or system downtime. For example, incorrect SQL Server settings can slow down queries, whilst overlooked security gaps may allow unauthorised access. Ivanti Neurons for ITSM Health Check provides an expert-led, systematic evaluation to identify these issues, ensuring your deployment is ready for optimisation.

Why is it important?

A thorough health check prevents costly system failures and security vulnerabilities by identifying issues early.

For IT, misconfigured Workflow Engines can slow ticket resolution, disrupting IT operations, whilst weak access controls may expose sensitive data, and improper high-availability setups can cause outages. The health check pinpoints these issues for correction, ensures robust security configurations, and validates high-availability setups for reliability, helping IT teams maintain a stable and secure environment.

For business, misconfigured Escalation Engines can delay incident handling, impacting customer satisfaction, whilst faulty SSRS settings can lead to unreliable metrics, affecting decision-making, and weak security configurations can risk non-compliance with regulations. The health check ensures timely escalations, verifies reporting accuracy, and strengthens compliance through thorough reviews, supporting business continuity and regulatory adherence.

Key features

  • Component Review: All Ivanti Neurons for ITSM components, including Operations Console and Workflow Engine, are evaluated. This identifies misconfigurations impacting system performance. You gain a clear view of component health for targeted improvements.
  • Configuration Assessment: Microsoft IIS, SSRS, and SQL Server database engine settings are reviewed. This detects issues that could slow down or destabilise the system. You receive insights to enhance deployment reliability.
  • Landscape and Tenant Analysis: Production, development, and user acceptance testing environments, including the configuration database, are examined. This ensures consistency across all deployment landscapes. You maintain a stable ITSM environment.
  • Security Configuration Check: Access controls and security settings are assessed for vulnerabilities. This strengthens protection against unauthorised access. Your deployment remains secure and compliant.
  • High-Availability Validation: High-availability and multi-server setups, where applicable, are checked for reliability. This ensures failover mechanisms work during outages. You avoid disruptions and maintain service continuity.
